Review Summary of November Meeting prepared by Management
November minutes accepted with no revisions.
Management Item: Incentive structure for personal health assessment
Joni Troestler talked about changes in the Wellness incentive program. Currently employees receive $65 for taking the Wellness Personal Health Assessment. Effective 1/1/2012, employees will receive $25 upon completion of the survey, $20 if they allow Wellness Health Coaches to contact them and $20 for indication of non-smoking status.
Management Item: List of E-Board members
They still need the list of AFSCME E-board members. Michelle will provide the list.
Management Item: Data on hours worked by 90% employees at UIHC
The data was emailed by Josey to members of the committee. Josey gave Michelle a list of benefits affected/not affected by part-time status.
Union Item: Review of safety program at UIHC
Kupka reported on the makeup of the committee: Chuck Kupka, SEIU rep, AFSCME rep, Merit-exempt rep, Other Scientific & Professional rep, Staff Relations rep, Health Protection Office rep and University Employee Health Clinic rep. They review patient and non-patient incidents and use the OSHA log to address concerns and problems. They also look at emergency management plans.
Old Business: Continuation of the PNA Code Green discussion
The Union stated that the main problem with PNA’s and code greens is that NA’s are being pulled from their units to work in Psych. PNA’s are then pulled to work in other units. NA’s may have the code green training but not the experience to respond. The Union feels that it makes more sense to leave the experienced PNA’s in Psych if at all possible.
Union Item: Concerns arising from the ELMS implementation
If there is a problem, staff should address it with their supervisors first, then their local HR rep.
Evaluations/Suggestions
Tuecke said the communication is what it’s about. When we talk respectfully we get to where we want to be.
Next meeting will be held January 20th at 2:00 pm at 202 USB.
