Union Item: Data on hours worked by 90% employees at UIHC
The following numbers for UI Health Care employees working 90% for at least one day during the month of January were:
Total: 529
No additional hours: 67
.1 to less than 10 hours: 138
10 hours to less than 20 hours: 167
20 hours or more: 157
University Item: Adjusted Vacation/Sick Leave accruals for 90% appointments when monthly hours worked exceed 10% of the appointment - where are these adjustments shown?
The additional accruals show up on their monthly Vacation/Sick Report under Added for Month X.
The percentage of time worked each month shows up at the bottom of the Vacation/Sick Report in the table that shows monthly vacation/sick/other used.
Union Item: In many areas of UIHC employees are not being given their 15 minute breaks on a regular basis.

Union Item: Many medical assistants are being intimidated and fearful of losing their job.

Union Item: Disciplines being sent online but not being sent to the union. Memos that are to be sent to the union instead being simply posted on bulletin boards (i.e.: The one about the PARS and the hours change for 90% employees which says it was sent to the union.)
Every department does it differently and every steward wants it to be done differently. Some are sent electronically and some are sent via US post office. Management would like to send them online and would include a scanned attachment with signature. Marron to discuss at union stewards meeting to determine consistent method.
