AFSCME Grievance Requests for Information

In the investigation of grievances, stewards should be provided information pertaining to the grievance.  If required by the steward, raw data will be provided rather than a summary.  All AFSCME stewards should provide an employee-signed Release of Information form to access personnel files in the investigation of a grievance.

Seasonal Flu Vaccinations

Joni Troester (Guest) reported that the UIHC seasonal flu vaccination program will begin 10/5/09 and end 10/20/09.  In 2008, 64% of employees voluntarily received seasonal flu vaccination.

UIHC Merit Employment Policy

Starting 9/8/09, all 40 hour Merit job openings at UIHC were reduced to part-time positions (36 hours/week or less).  Merit staff employed by UIHC departments with a decreased patient census may be asked to take either leave without pay or vacation.  These policies apply to Merit staff only.

UI Reorganization Proposal:

Merge University Housing Food Service and IMU Food Service.  Merge University Branch Libraries (Math, Psych, Geo Sciences, and Physics) with Main Library.

Jim Schepker shared a few of his comments on the meeting and process before adjournment.
