Timing of Service Changes

Preparing for Service Changes

1.  HawkID

a)  Service Change:  HawkID will be active for access to Employee Self Service and  Jobs@UIOWA; work is in progress to keep Skillsoft access active.

b)  HawkID 2.0 Project Review

i)  Existing HawkID for healthcare people are being renamed to HealthcareIDs.

ii)  New HawkIDs have been created with same name as HealthcareIDs, but with a different password.

iii)  Change is effective August 2009

iv)  See HawkID 2.0 project for http://hawkid.uiowa.edu/project/

c)  Today:

i)  New HawkID can be used to login to Employee Self Service (https://hris.uiowa.edu)

d)  Before August or start of furlough:

i)  Set password for new HawkID account at:  https://web.its.uiowa.edu/password/home.page
Tool is linked to HawkID 2.0 project site now; a link will be added to The Point.

ii)  Complete the password hints enrollment so you will be able to gain access later if you forget your password.

2.  E-mail Mailbox and Delivery Address

a)  Service Change:  Healthcare mailbox will be closed on furlough date; if you have a Hawkmail account, it will be closed after 14 days of notice.

b)  Before furlough:

i)  Establish personal off-campus email account.  Free email is available from places such as:

ii)  Notify non-work correspondents of new address.

iii)  Save (export) any personal email you wish to keep.

c)  Furlough:

i)  Update delivery address for firstname-lastname@uiowa.edu  Enter address of personal off-campus email account via the "Email Routing" tool (see the Employee Self Service, Personal tab at https://hris.uiowa.edu)

ii)  firstname-lastname@uiowa.edu delivery address will be active 1 year after start of furlough period.
