What is Colorful Choices?

This may be the simplest nutrition program ever – no calorie counting, no fat gram tabulating, no weighing and measuring. Just easy-to-remember daily selections of colorful fruits and vegetables! Aim for at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables combined each day for 20 days – 100 servings in all – in red, orange, yellow/white, green, and blue/violet.

When does it take place?

This 20-day program will run November 16 to December 4, 2009. Register Starting October 15.

Why fruits and vegetables?

Getting enough fruits and vegetables is the most important nutrition habit you can adopt for better health. Eating more fruits and vegetables can reduce your risk of obesity, heart disease, many cancers, diabetes, hypertension, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease while increasing energy and improving mood.

Why color?

It’s simple and healthful. By spreading daily fruit and vegetable choices across the rainbow of colors, you’re guaranteed the best that produce has to offer for better health. Colors grab the imagination, stimulate the mind and can help reduce stress. What better way to healthy habits than with a burst of color!

What do I get if I eat 100 servings of fruits/vegetables?

In addition to better eating habits and health, each Colorful Choices participant receives up to 400 points to the Wellness Store! You’ll receive 100 points for registering and another 300 points for completing the program evaluation.
