The UI Wellness team offers a number of health and wellness services for groups or individuals, conveniently provided at your work-site.  

FREE Educational Seminars presented by UI Wellness Staff

Requires 2 weeks to schedule, and a minimum of 10 participants

Thirty-minute seminars offered on-site. Presentations can be tailored to the unique needs of your work group.  The information below gives you a brief description:

Fitting Physical Activity into a Busy Schedule

This seminar will provide you with information on how much activity you need for it to be beneficial and tips for incorporating more activity into your everyday life.  You will also learn how to develop your own fitness program tailored to meet your individual needs

Healthy Meal Planning

Are you constantly on the go and feel your meal planning takes a back seat to everything else?  Take control of eating healthy meals with tips for time-saving meals at home, eating out and healthy snacks for the whole family.

Stress Management Techniques

This seminar will include a stress assessment, a definition and symptoms of stress, and ways to take action through stress reducing techniques.  Find out what other employees do to manage their stress and identify one new way to reduce your own stress response.

Worklife Balance

Too many tasks and too little time?  How can you take care of yourself and your personal relationships?  This seminar will help you explore ways to create a balance of work/life through stress management, physical activity, healthy eating, and time management.

Making Healthy Food Choices at Work

Do you feel that you are surrounded by bad food choices?  Learn how to make the most of what food is around you at work and what you can do to make better choices.

Active Office: Strength Training

Are you ready to add activity to your daily work breaks?  Learn how to safely perform strength building exercises in your office with no equipment.

FREE Worksite Ergonomic Evaluation

This service is provided through the Health Protection Office. A risk factor assessment is available for individuals or an entire department. Focus is placed on the prevention and control of environmental factors that can lead to musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace.

On-site Neck and Shoulder Massage (Fee: $15/person at time of massage)

Requires 4 weeks to schedule.

15 minutes of chair massage by licensed massage therapists.

FREE Smoking Cessation Counseling

Requires 4 weeks to schedule, and a minimum of 8 participants.

Individual smoking cessation counseling is available through the University Employee Health Clinic (UEHC) for employees who are self-motivated and committed to a change in lifestyle. The program is structured to be completed after six sessions. The first session is a one-hour assessment and subsequent sessions are approximately fifteen minutes, during UEHC clinic hours. You will be contacted by a UEHC provider within one week of consult to set up the first assessment.

Contact Person Responsibilities

The contat person will be contacted by a member of the UI Wellness team to coordinate the details of the requested service.  The contact person is responsible to:

  • Disseminate information to colleagues and staff regarding the service.
  • Identify appropriate on-site facilities for the service
  • Provide a class roster list and coordinate distribution of program evaluations.
