Managing Stress and Behavioral Health

Chemical Dependency Services, UIHC, 384-8765 - Provides outpatient treatment programs for both alcohol and/or drug abuse. Trained staff work through both individual and group counseling sessions. In addition, OWI evaluations are provided.

- Lifestyles Weight Management Program - UI Wellness/Human Resources 353-2973 – Lifestyles is a 10-week program designed to promote sustainable weight management through exercise and nutrition modifications. Participants receive a course binder filled with information about weight loss, nutrition, and exercise. The two hour weekly class is divided into classroom and education time, as well as learning a new way to exercise each week including water aerobics, Zumba, yoga, and more.

liveWELL Health Coach Service– UI Wellness/Human Resources 353-2973 – The liveWELL Program offers a one-on-one Health Coach service that is free for faculty and staff. A Health Coach can assist with getting you started with exercise or further developing your current routine. The Campus Recreation and Wellness Center location has fitness equipment in a private area where a Health Coach can orient you to fitness equipment and show you how to use it safely and effectively. Referrals to Personal Training and CHAMPS are provided, as appropriate.

- Personal Training, UI Recreational Services 335-9293 - Personal Trainers provide education, guidance, instruction and motivation to clients who want to achieve personal fitness goals. Personal Trainers will closely supervise your progress and will help provide you with resources so that you become confident and comfortable in any fitness/weight room environment. Personal Training packages are available for individuals and small groups.

REACH Diabetes Prevention Program– Rehabilitation Therapies, UIHC 356-2663 - REACH offers an eight-week prevention program for people at risk for developing type 2 diabetes, especially those who have pre-diabetes. People with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes also may participate. The program features education on ways to improve blood sugar control, individualized supervised exercise, and dietary recommendations from experts in the field of diabetes.
