Well On Our Way will be under construction starting May 31, 2013. We will return in Fall 2013 with a new and improved Wellness Store for you to reward yourself for healthy activities!

S.M.A.R.T. Goal Setting - Set Yourself Up For Success Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-Bound. Making goals using the S.M.A.R.T. principle is a key to success. For example, rather than saying, “I am going to work out more,” clarify your action. Specific: I am going to walk. Measurable: I am going to walk 20 minutes, 4 days a week. Attainable: I can do this during lunch break. Realistic: I am confident I can do this on my lunch break. Time-Bound: I will start this action today and check in with my goal in 1 week. Now, when you are thinking of your WOOW goals, how will you make it SMART? Set SMART goals to improve your well-being using the Log Form.
New to WOOW? WOOW is a program that encourages healthy behaviors to improve/maintain one’s overall wellness. It encompasses the seven dimensions of wellness including: environmental, physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, social, and occupational. Upon accomplishing healthy behaviors, you can award yourself points. You will be able to spend your points at the UI Wellness store. UI Wellness, in collaboration with the University Book Store, is excited to offer many great prize choices, all of which will be delivered right to your office. To be eligible for this free program, you must be a University of Iowa employee and register using your HawkID/Password.

UI Wellness provides health promotion services for staff and faculty to enhance the health of the organization and its employees. Health promotion efforts are comprised of awareness and education activities, behavior and lifestyle change programs, and the creation of supportive environments. The vision for UI Wellness is to be a premier comprehensive health promotion program within an academic environment.
