MII-related Professional Societies, Society Journals and Conferences
RSNA (Radiological Society of North America), Founded in 1915, is the professional society for radiologists and radiology professionals, including radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical physicists and allied scientists in medical imaging.
RSNA2004, RSNA2005, RSNA2006, RSNA2007, RSNA2008, RSNA2009, RSNA 2010
RSNA's Informatics (It provides useful resources of IHE, MRIC, RadLex, and DICOM)SIIM (The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine), devoted to advance computer applications and information technology in medical imaging through education and research. The society used to be called, The Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR). In 2006, the Society changed its name to SIIM to better reflect the broadened role of imaging across the medical enterprise. It is the longest-serving resource for imaging professionals (physicians, administrators, technologists, Imaging Informatics Professionals, engineers, scientists, physicists) interested in the current and future use of technologies for image and information interpretation and management. SIIM provides small grants to support research and education in medical image informatics.
- CARS (Computer-Aided Radiology and Survey, International Congress and Exhibition) It is an acedemic confernece and exhibition which covers many medical imaging domains inlcuding, Medical Imaging, Cardiovascular Imaging, Computed Maxillofacial Imaging, Image Processing and Display, PACS and IHE, Telemedicine and E-Health, Computer Aided Diagnosis, Computer Assisted Radiation Therapy, Surgical Navigation, Surgical Robotics and Instrumentation, Surgical Simulation and Education, Computer Assisted Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgery, Computer Assisted Head and Neck, and ENT Surgery, Image Guided Neurosurgery, Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular and Thoracoabdominal Surgery.
- Meetings: CARS85 (Berlin), CARS87 (Berlin), CARS89 (Berlin), CARS91 (Berlin), CARS93 (Berlin), CARS95 (Berlin), CARS96 (Paris), CARS97 (Berlin), CARS98 (Tokyo), CARS99 (Paris), CARS 00 (San Francisco), CARS01(Berlin), CARS02 (Paris), CARS03 (London), CARS04(Chicago), CARS05 (Berlin), CARS06 (Osaka), CARS07 (Berlin), CARS08 (Barcelona), CARS09 (Berlin), CARS 2010 (Berlin), CARS 2011 (Berlin)

- Osirix-vioewer: OsiriX is an image processing software dedicated to DICOM images (".dcm" / ".DCM" extension) produced by imaging equipment (MRI, CT, PET, PET-CT, SPECT-CT, Ultrasounds, ...). It can also read many file formats. It is fully compliant with the DICOM standard for image communication and image file formats. OsiriX is able to receive images transferred by DICOM communication protocol from any PACS or medical imaging modalities. Osirix downlaod site (software, code, and dicom samples)
