The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to sponsor the Excellence in Undergraduate Research awards. These awards recognize outstanding accomplishments in scholarly investigation, artistic creation, or performance by one undergraduate student in each of the following fields:
- Arts and Humanities
- Mathematics and Engineering
- Natural Sciences
- Social Sciences
Eligibility
Student must a junior in standing and be returning as an undergraduate for the next academic year.
Nomination
Nominating students must complete the electronic application form and submit it by the deadline. Students can and should nominate themselves for the award.
Required materials include:
-Resume or CV
-Unofficial transcript
-Electronic application form.
-Optional supplemental materials if appropriate
-Faculty support letter
(There is no prompt for the support letter - just a general letter of support regarding the student's scholarly investigation, artistic creation, or performance in their field)
Award
Recipients are recognized at the Spring Undergraduate Research Festival (SURF) and receive a $1,000 stipend and travel allowance to attend a conference in their area of study for the next academic year.
