iowa research experience for undergraduates (ireu)
The IREU is a faculty grant competition offered by the Office of the Vice President for Research. These awards provide
an undergraduate up to $3000 to engage in the research process under the mentorship of a faculty member. At least half
of the funds must be provided as a stipend to the student and the remaining funds can be used for equipment, supplies,
or travel related to the research project. Faculty apply for these awards during the fall or spring semesters, and
application deadlines are determined on a yearly basis.
