UICIFD is a student-driven project founded and directed by Professor Enrique Carrasco. Its purpose is to help laypersons understand the often impenetrable world of international finance and development.

This website is comprised of the following main features:

• The E-Book on International Finance & Development -
  A substantial work (300 pages) that covers major aspects of public international finance and international development. Coverage includes the roles of the IMF (International Monetary Fund) and the World Bank in a globalized economy as well as the Mexican and Asian financial crises. The Center is adding a new part--Part Four--to the E-Book. Sections on Debt Relief as well as Remittances and Development are now posted and additional sections are forthcoming.
• Issues - "Governance and Accountability in International Finance: The Bretton Woods Institutions and Regional Development Banks."
• News & Developments - UICIFD's "Blog" with weekly postings on current events.

• Events - On December 14-15, 2007, the New Zealand Centre for International Economic Law held its Inaugural Conference, "International Economic Law and National Autonomy: Convergence or Divergence?" Professor Carrasco presented a paper, co-authored by Ms. Alison Guernsey, proposing a major reform of the World Bank’s Inspection Panel.
