About The Center for International Finance and Development

at The University of Iowa College of Law

UICIFD is a student-driven project founded and directed by Professor Enrique Carrasco. Its purpose is to help laypersons understand the often impenetrable world of international finance and development.

The project began with the posting of the ground-breaking E-Book on International Finance & Development in 1998. The posting attracted so much international attention that Professor Carrasco and his students decided to add features to the website. Each feature is intended to educate the layperson so that those who make use of the website will be better able to participate in the discourse of global governance as it relates to international finance and development.

Most of the material on the website is produced through a collaborative effort among the Center's law student staff, which includes a Managing Editor. Thus, under the supervision of Professor Carrasco, law students at the College of Law educate both themselves and the global community.
