TYPES OF PRESENTATIONS
1. Papers: Papers are theory-oriented presentations or reports on completed research. The presenter will have 20 minutes to discuss their papers, followed by 10 minutes of questions or comments.
2. Works in Progress (WIP), Graduate Students encouraged: This session provides an opportunity for the presentation of work in progress and research that is being planned. Those hosting a WIP table will be able to discuss with other conference participants their research in progress or research plans, or ideas for collaborative research. Each WIP table host will provide a one-page statement of the purpose and focus of their session.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: In order to be considered, proposals must be received by
Monday, June 9th, 2008 correspondent will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance by August 15, 2008.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSALS
Proposals submitted must adhere to the following instructions:
Abstracts may be no longer than 250 words.
On the upper left hand corner of the abstract, include the following:
a. Title of presentation (10 words maximum);
b. Type of presentation (Paper, WIP);
c. Name of the authors in the order you would like them to appear in the program, and their
institutional affiliation, including the location of the institution. Do not use acronyms when giving institutional affiliations. Underline the name of the author to be the correspondent;
d. Special AV equipment required (overhead projector, computer projector provided).
e. Surface mailing address of correspondent;
f. E-mail address of correspondent;
g. Office telephone number of correspondent.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SENDING ELECTRONIC MAIL SUBMISSIONS: All submissions must be sent electronically to Lia Plakans at lplakans@mail.utexas.edu. Attach the abstract as an MS Word file to an e-mail with the subject header "MwALT Submission - 'your name'." Electronic files submitted without your name could become lost!
