Niki
earned her B.A. with a double major in Spanish and Linguistics from The University of Iowa and her MA in Linguistics with TESL focus also from The University of Iowa. Her interests include the relationship between perception and production of sounds in a second language, comparison of first language acquisition and second language acquisition, grammar of various languages and interference of first language grammatical structures in the acquisition of a second language, and development of writing skills. Niki has taught all modalities in the IIEP as well as college writing (rhetoric) to native speakers of English at the University of Arizona.
In Spain, she attended the University of Valladolid's intensive Spanish program and traveled extensively throughout western Europe. Her hobbies include billiards, walking her dogs, reading, traditional music, and studying other languages.
