504 Training

The Iowa Program for Assistive Technology hosted a training on Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act on September 20, 2000.

What was  covered:

• The training provided an overview of Section 504 in educational and post secondary settings.
• It included a summary of relevant decisions and rulings with a specific emphasis on assistive technology and other adaptations and modifications.
• The training highlighted the differences between what is required in a K-12 setting and how that changes when a student is in a college or university.
• The Parent Training and Information Center of Iowa facilitated the question and answer session.
• The handouts from the training are available on the website.
