Our goal in Telecommunications and Information Technology is to see an increase in the number of individuals with disabilities that have access to telecommunication and information technology. To do this there must be an increase in the expertise and capacity of public and private entities to provide accessible formats, and increase the knowledge of consumers and their rights to accessible telecommunications.

FUNDING FOR ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY
Iowa
COMPASS provides information to Iowa consumers and family members about potential sources of
funding for the purchase of assistive technology. When a consumer requests assistance in
finding funding for a specific piece of equipment, the Funding Specialist will ask a series of questions
to determine which public programs and private organizations might be able to help.
They will then send the caller a packet of information, which include fact sheets on
funding sources, funding strategies
brochure, loan closets, and
alternative funding resources.
For more information on potential funding resources, you can Contact Us or you can e-mail our Funding Specialist, Jennifer Britton at jennifer-britton@uiowa.edu.
Here are a few resources specific to Telecommunications and Information Technology. Please be sure to check our Links page for additional resources that might be helpful to you, including a variety of assistive technology links.
