Iowa Faculty Investing in Recruiting Student Talent (Iowa FIRST)

The Iowa FIRST project is a recommendation of the Diversity Action Committee Report and is designed to deepen the relationship between prospective students and the university academic community. Particular focus will be given to enhancing our diversity recruitment efforts. The project will help to bridge the gap between recruitment activities in the Office of Admissions and the university's colleges and provide structure, support and recognition for faculty who are involved in student recruitment. This effort is being sponsored by Tom Rocklin and Marcella David, and being led by staff from the Office of Admissions and Center for Diversity and Enrichment.

Iowa FIRST VOLUNTEERS WILL—

• Participate in UI recruitment activities to encourage prospective students to make The University of Iowa their FIRST choice.
• Receive information, training and support to recruit students.
• Receive information, training and support on diversity and inclusion.
• Be part of a cohort of faculty interesting in increasing UI’s talent.
• Be recognized for their efforts.
