Laptop ComputersLaptops can be checked out from the Resource Center Checkout Desk located at Room E350, Adler Journalism Building. Laptops are only for use in the Resource Center and cannot be removed from the room. Laptops must be returned in person to the Resource Center Checkout Desk prior to closing time. When the computer is returned, a staff member will verify that all parts are present and that the computer and all peripherals are in good working order. You will be required to remain in the Resource Center until this check is completed. Laptops will be available on a first come, first served basis. They
cannot be reserved ahead of time. You may not install software on the laptop or otherwise change its configuration. Laptop service may be denied to people who abuse equipment, return laptops late or otherwise disregard the provisions of laptop service. Fines: Laptop late-return fees are $10 for each hour or portion of an hour the laptop is late. If you lose or significantly damage a laptop, you will be responsible for reimbursing the Resource Center for the repair or replacement of the system. Replacement cost for the laptop computer is based on the retail price of equipment with similar specifications. Repair costs will be based on actual costs of parts and labor. You must not leave the laptop unattended – you are responsible for replacing the laptop should it be stolen while checked out to you. |
