To meet the requirements for a minor, students must complete at least 15 s.h. in journalism and mass communication with a g.p.a. of at least 2.00; 12 of the 15 s.h. must be taken in advanced courses at The University of Iowa (those numbered 019:140 - 19:169 or above). Students are also encouraged to take one of the following courses.
The minor is not intended to be sufficient professional preparation for careers in journalism or mass communication. It should be regarded as an introduction to the field.
Courses for the minor may not be taken pass/nonpass.
