What is E-Learning?
E-Learning allows you the ability to access online courses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any internet-based computer.
UI Learning & Development offers University-specific online courses located within My Training (ICON). Information Technology Services also offers access to Lynda.com (lynda.uiowa.edu) for technology/software courses.
Whether you’re looking to develop a new skill or need instruction on a University-specific online course, e-Learning is the key!
Discover the ease and flexibility that 24/7 internet access can offer.
Is E-Learning Right for You?
- Do you have a hectic or constantly changing schedule?

- Are you a self starter?
If so, online learning is the solution!
Online courses can be accessed at any time, regardless of your schedule. Course content is available when you need it, and you can progress through the course at your own pace!

After October 29, 2012 our SkillSoft resources will be unavailable.
We are reviewing e-learning providers that can meet the changing needs of our campus, and have narrowed down the possibilities to SkillSoft and MyQuickCoach (AthenaOnline.com).
If a decision is made to continue an agreement with SkillSoft, we anticipate minimal disruption in their service, only a change in what the e-learning services they provide to us. If it is decided that we will partner with MyQuickCoach, we expect a period of time will be needed to establish the technological framework and communication to support their platform. We are working to minimize any possible disruption in service. During this time, access to lynda.uiowa.edu and online resources provided through UI Libraries will remain available.
Due to shifts in financial sourcing for this e-learning project, students would not be covered regardless of which vendor is selected. Student access to lynda.uiowa.edu and online resources already available through UI Libraries will remain intact. E-book solutions are also being explored by UI Libraries, and when a provider is selected for that service all faculty, staff and students will have access to those offerings.
