  Law and Policy in Action and Peer Action Disability Support audited a local McDonald's and documented several design features that prevented persons with disabilities from parking, dining or using the facilities without the assistance of others. Our delegation met with management and consultants at the restaurant to explore options and costs of retrofits. The store made all of the changes requested and modified the entrances, parking spaces, bathrooms, customer service counters and other areas. For its effort, McDonald's received an award from Citizens for People with Disabilities and received favorable media attention.
