Meet the Health Coach
JoAnn Daehler-Miller, MS, RD, LD
JoAnn is a Registered/Licensed Dietitian with over 20 years experience in a variety of health care settings. Her experiences range from community promotion of healthy eating and related lifestyle choices to individual instruction on diet changes for specific medical conditions. In addition to promoting healthy eating, JoAnn is passionate about supporting more active lifestyles. She enjoys working with individuals to assist them in identifying and attaining personal health goals that contribute to overall balance and wellness in their life.
Erin Litton, MS, CHES, ACSM - HFI
Erin is a UI Wellness Health Coach and is certified by American
College of Sports Medicine; she brings enthusiasm to change
while understanding that altering old habits can be difficult
and challenging. With six years experience instructing groups
in physical activity and five years of experience working
one-on-one with individuals, Erin recognizes that the present
is what enables the future. Investing time into a healthier
lifestyle now will result both in short term and long term
benefits. Erin offers insight into services that best fit
your needs and abilities, as she has been involved with recreational
programming on and off campus. She believes that one’s greatest
health can be attained with environmental support, individual
motivation, and a program that best fits the individual’s
interest.
Carla Melby - Oetken
Offering unconditional support along with a sense of humor, Carla believes that learning and change should be a joyful experience where people feel encouraged and empowered. Carla has more than 15 years of counseling and health promotion experience. Carla approaches Health Coaching with a desire to help others explore possibilities and particularly enjoys the areas of lifestyle change, stress reduction and smoking cessation.
JoAnna Arguello
JoAnna is a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Iowa and brings experience with one-on-one and tobacco cessation counseling. She finds joy in helping others attain their goals for healthier and more active lives and is dedicated to helping her clients find a plan that works and fits their lifestyle. Through unconditional acceptance and providing a supportive environment, she believes that change can happen when a person realizes first, that change is possible and second, when an individual is empowered to change his or her own life.
Megan Moeller, MS, ATC, CHES
Megan is the UI Wellness Coordinator and is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Health Education Specialist; she is passionate about the concept of employee wellness and health promotion. Megan works with participants to help them set attainable, realistic goals that are unique to their wants and needs. Topics often focus on weight management, developing tailored physical activity plans, and making appropriate nutritional choices. Megan enjoys providing individuals with skills and tools to help them meet and exceed their personal wellness goals.
Joni Troester, BS, MA, CHES
Joni is the Director of the UI Wellness program and is a Certified Health Education Specialist with over 15 years experience in health promotion programming both in hospital and worksite settings. She has worked with a wide range of clientele to assist them in improving their overall health through risk reduction and health enhancement programs. Joni works closely with the individual to develop tailored interventions specific to their identified health and wellness needs, and in coordination with their physician care. Tailored interventions often focus on the areas of weight management, physical activity plans, and sound nutrition choices. Joni brings a holistic approach to working with individuals to support and motivate them in reaching their personal wellness goals.
