Special Mention
Spring is a wonderful time of the year. We see the flowers and the trees in bloom; the birds are coming out to sing. The bullfrog is croaking in the pond. The wild deer is running with her fawn, and on the farm, we see the chicken with her chicks under her wing. Perhaps we cannot find a better place to see new life than on Iowa’s farms.
This baby Pygmy goat, affectionately named Coal, is just a few weeks old. His playful and curious personality just begs for attention. This photo was taken as he followed me through the barnyard. This snapshot helps capture some of that lovable personality. Coal has turned out to be one of the most popular additions to the family.
