Renugan Raidoo, Rhodes Scholar
Renugan Raidoo, a University of Iowa senior known as both a budding scientist and an altruistic activist, was among 32 people announced as 2011 Rhodes Scholars. Raidoo is the 20th UI student to receive this distinction, and the first since 1993.
Five Weeks in Ghana
Four University of Iowa students and one UI faculty member spent five weeks in Ghana for a needs-assessment trip. The goal: that sustainable development focused on water, sanitation, and energy will occur over time in ways that enable improved community health and prosperity.
