EMPLOYEE ONLINE PARKING LOT WAITING LIST INFORMATION PAGE
|Parking provides an online parking lot waiting list web site through EMPLOYEE SELF SERVICE for use by all Faculty and Staff permanent employees who work 50% or greater time.|

Answer: To be eligible for Faculty and Staff parking, you must be a permanent 50% time or greater employee of The University of Iowa. Eligibility for the Faculty or the Staff list is determined by the UI Job Code. The Faculty list includes FQ, FS, FT, FV - 1100, 1200, 1300 and FH16 Only. All other Job Codes qualify for the Staff list. Eligibility for specific parking facilities is determined by your University work address (building name only). Each facility may have a faculty, staff, or ADA list. ADA assignments are currently handled as a special request. Other offers would alternate between faculty and staff. Positioning on the waiting list is determined by University seniority date.
Answer: Go to the Employee Self Service login. Once you have signed on to your self service, look for the MY PARKING located in the lower left corner of the page (see sample below).
When you click on My Parking, you will go to the next page which will allow you to choose the waiting list information or carpooling.
If you are already on a waiting list, it will provide you with your current placement on each lot you are on. If you would like to add or delete a lot, click on “Add/Remove myself from Parking Lot Waiting Lists”. You will then go to a page of eligible parking lots based on your UI work location. Just check the lots you want or uncheck lots to remove your name. Click SAVE and you are done. New requests will be noted as pending until Parking reviews the request. Once that is complete, your placement will be indicated for each lot.
Answer: There is no way to predict when you will be assigned to your lot of choice. New assignments are largely based upon cancellations by current permit-holders.
Answer: Contact your department HR representative to have the date corrected.
Answer: To be considered for assignment to a lot based on a permanent disability, Parking requires a letter from your attending physician stating your situation and a copy of your state handicap parking placard. These documents should be sent to the Parking Office at the IMU Ramp. Once the information is received, determination will be made to place your name on the waiting lists with an ADA status.
Answer: The waiting lists are reviewed on a regular basis and offers are made using the waiting list as it was at the beginning of a month. The Parking Office will contact you by telephone or email when space becomes available in a lot. We prefer to have a reply to the offer within two working days so if an offer is declined, we can then contact the next eligible person. If we are aware that you are out of the office, either by contact with your office, your voice mail, or email, we will make a note and wait for your response or contact you when you return. If you decline the offer, or we do not receive a response from you within 5 working days, your name is removed from the waiting list of the lot you are being offered. For those who do accept the assignment, one week is given to complete the transaction of sending in a parking application or returning your current permit for exchange.
Answer: Lot assignments are based upon your work location. The lot you want may not be one you for which you are eligible. Consideration for an exception may be given in special circumstances. A list of eligible lots for each University building is HERE.
Answer: This is a situation where you will still need to go through the Parking Office. You may be eligible for parking and/or being placed on a waiting list. Contact the Parking Office at 335-1475.
