An evaluation form will be available for each candidate starting at 8:00 a.m. on the first interview day. Forms for the first three candidates will remain available until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3rd. The evaluation forms for the last two candidates will be available until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13th, the day before the search committee has to present its final report to President Mason.

Selection Process

As you prepare your evaluations of the finalists for provost, please keep in mind the following:

President Mason will be making the final decision. The first task of the committee was to select the candidates who best met the search criteria and invite them to interview on campus. Our ultimate task will be to produce a separate report on each candidate for President Mason. Our committee has been instructed NOT to rank the finalists, but rather to present President Mason with a summary of the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate based upon information gleaned through the CV, the off-campus interview, the on-campus interview, references, and feedback from the campus community. This report is due to the President on March 14. Therefore, we ask that you submit your feedback to the committee by 7:00 p.m. on March 13.

Given this schedule, we have a limited time frame for summarizing strengths and weaknesses as observed by the campus community. We encourage you to send your comments while each person’s attributes are fresh in your mind. Online candidate evaluation forms will remain available until 5:00 p.m. on the day following the candidate's symposium on scholarly activity.

The feedback time for the final candidate will be slightly shorter. Because of this, we will provide paper forms at the two public events on March 12-13 and encourage you to take a moment to fill these out and return them before you leave. The online evaluation form for this candidate will be available until 7:00 p.m. on March 13.

Our heartiest thanks to all those who are attending the search events, acting as moderators, and helping to host these special guests to our campus.
