Background

The University of Iowa is conducting a self-study focused on undergraduate education in preparation for a reaccreditation site visit by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association in April 2008.

Subcommittes are exploring five major themes:

• Common Academic Experiences: The General Education Curriculum
• Cultivating Student Potential: Support for Teaching and Learning
• Education within the Major
• Entry and Transition: Becoming a University of Iowa Student
• Getting Involved: Education beyond the Classroom
• Learning Environments

We need your help

To prepare a thorough and accurate self-study report we need assistance from representatives throughout the University community.

Each subcommittee has identified units and programs relevant to its charge, but with so much going on in undergraduate education, we know there are programs we have overlooked.
