How do I request a speaker?
Your can either complete the online request for, or contact the Speakers Bureau directly by calling Mary Kenyon at 319/384-0011, or e-mailing him at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Speakers Bureau will take care of booking a UI speaker to fit your needs.
Who can request a speaker?
The UI Speakers bureau provides speakers to a wide range of organizations including service clubs, community and civic organizations, professional and educational associations, library groups, senior centers, churches, school groups, and museums.
How much does it cost to book a speaker?
Speakers are generally provided free of charge. Our faculty, staff and student speakers participate on a volunteer basis, and the Speakers Bureau covers their travel expenses. However, if you are requesting a speaker for a fee-based event, or for an event for which you generally have paid speakers, we request that you extend an offer of an honorarium to the participating Speakers Bureau member.
How much advance notice is needed in booking a speaker?
The more lead time we have, the better chance we have of finding just the right speaker for your event. We ask for a minimum of four weeks advance notice.
