Service ChargesDeferred Payment FeeAccounts are billed per semester. Each semester the entire balance (noted as 'Balance Due' on the bill), should be paid in order to avoid incurring the Deferred Payment Fee. If the entire balance is not paid, it is assumed that payments will be made in installments, deferring a portion of the balance and incurring the Deferred Payment Fee. If you feel you have been charged a deferred payment fee in error, please fill out a Deferred Payment Waiver form and return the completed form to the University Billing Office. Late Registration FeeStudents registering on or after the first official day of each semester must pay a late registration fee based on the below schedule. Questions regarding this fee should be directed to the registration center at 335-0244.
Reinstatement FeeEach month, the minimum that must be paid is stated as the 'Minimum Periodic Payment'. This amount must be paid by the due date to avoid having your registration restricted. If your registration is restricted you are assessed a $25.00 Reinstatement Fee for each restriction. Restricted registration will affect your ability to receive transcripts, charge on a student I.D. card, and register for a future semester. If you feel you have been charged a reinstatement fee in error, please fill out a Reinstatement Waiver form and return the completed form to the University Billing Office. Returned Check FeeAny payment not honored and returned to the University of Iowa will be charged back to the account accompanied by a $30.00 returned check handling charge.
