If You Need Help Right Now

If you have an immediate life-threatening emergency situation, phone 911 for help right now.

If you or someone you know has an emergency during hours that we are open for business (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday), please call 335-7294 and ask the receptionist about same-day appointment availability or ask to speak with the Consultant-on-Duty.

If you have any other urgent or emergency situation after our regular working hours, please contact one of the following resources:

If You Have Been Sexually Assaulted

If you have been sexually assaulted and need immediate help, phone the Rape Victim Advocacy Program at 335-6000.  If you would like to speak with a UCS counselor about your situation, phone 335-7294 during working hours and schedule a consultation appointment.  The UCS is a confidential resource as defined in The University of Iowa policies on Sexual Misconduct, Sexual Harassment, Harassment, and Violence, and as such will not make any report of your concerns or situation to anyone unless making such a report would protect you or another person from harm.

Concerns About Domestic Violence or Abuse

For concerns related to domestic assault or violence, call the Domestic Violence Intervention Program for assistance at 351-1043.  If you are in immediate danger, phone The University of Iowa Police at 335-5022

Concerns About Another Person's Behavior

If you are concerned about your own or someone else's safety due to concerns about suicide risk, contact the Crisis Center at 351-0140 for immediate assistance.

Concerns About Another Person's Behavior

If you are concerned about your own or someone else's safety as a result of another person's behavior, call the Threat Assessment Team for assistance at 384-2787 or 384-2955.
