UCS Mission Statement
The University Counseling Service (UCS) at The University of Iowa is a student services unit that operates in support of the academic mission of the University by engaging in activities that facilitate student development. This unit actively works in the delivery of its services to model, take leadership in, and promote:

the valuing of all human differences on individual, organizational, environmental, and community levels,

a philosophy of encouraging and valuing diversity* on this campus and

facilitation of human potential.
*The UCS defines diversity as including but not being limited to diverse ideas, values, lifestyles, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, religion, class, (dis)ability, nationality, language, and age.
