The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, named Purdue University Provost Sally Mason the 20th president of the University of Iowa on Thursday, June 21. Board of Regents President Michael Gartner introduced Mason and her husband, Kenneth, to the UI community in the Iowa Memorial Union’s Richey Ballroom just one week after Mason interviewed on the UI campus. Mason’s appointment takes effect Aug. 1.
