Black History Month Events: AAC Reception for Faculty and Staff.

Community of Color : Welcome back reception for faculty, staff, and students of color. Dates: August 2009, January 2010

Iowa Black Alumni (IBAA) Scholarship: Scholarships are awarded to African American undergraduate and graduate students. The African American Council Executive Board solicits applications and makes recommendations to the IBAA Board and award presented at Multicultural Graduation & Recognition Banquet  pre-reception.

MLK Week: Sponsor activities throughout the week and provide funding for various events.

Catalyst Award: Donation of monies towards this event. Members are on selection committee

Holiday Feast :  African American Council and the Center for Diversity co-host dinner that provides a home cooked meal to students, staff and faculty usually in November.
