Black History Month Events: Sponsored and co-sponsored activities throughout the month.  These events are held in February.

Community of Color Getting Connected: A welcome back reception for faculty, staff, and students of color in August  and January of each year.

Iowa Black Alumni Scholarship: 4 scholarships to be awarded to African American undergraduate and graduate students. The Executive Board selects recipients and award presented at Community of Color.  Applications are out in January and awards made by May 1.

MLK Week:
Sponsored activities throughout the week and provided funding.  These events are held in January.

Catalyst Award:
Donation of monies towards this event. Members are on selection committee

Holiday Feast :
African American Council provides a home cooked meal.  This event is held in November.

Juneteenth Celebration: Celebration of the oldest known celebration of the ending of slavery. This event is held in June.

Pre-reception to the Multicultural Graduation and Recognition Banquet for Students of color and their families and friends - The IBAA Scholarship recipients are announced each year at this reception.  This event is held in May.
