Songs
of Komo, SW Burkina, 2002 This is the music of the famous Komo masks
of the Senufo and Bamana in western Burkina and eastern Mali. The clear human
voice is the assistant to the mask, and the synthesized, kazoo-like voice
is the mask itself. Recorded at the funeral of an elder of Komo in a small
Senufo village in March, 2002 by Konomba (Christopher D. Roy).
