you tell the Bobo from the Bwa (and why do so many people get it wrong)?
For decades scholars and collectors have confused the art
of the Bobo and the Bwa. This is entirely due to the misleading identifications
of these people by Jula interpreters for French colonial officers in the period
1895-1950. Bwa masks have red, white and black patterns, Bobo masks do not.
