Market day is always the most important day of the week in the community. Lots of people travel to the market from nearby towns, and people from all of the neighborhoods of the community gather to shop, sell surplus goods, exchange news, and attend to other business. On many market days throughout Africa, special events are scheduled in some African communites to attract shoppers, including music, theatre, or even masked performances.
