Here large bundles of cotton cloth strips are being offered for sale. A purchaser may buy these strips and take them to a tailor to sew together to make a shirt or trousers. The tailor holds a piece of the cloth up against the client's arm or torso to measure how long it needs to be, then multiples it by the number of strips he needs to complete each section (so many for a sleeve, so many for the torso), and sews the shirt accordingly.
