A favorite pasttime during the hot middle of the day is to sit in the shade and prepare one another's hair. Here two women of the family create the elaborate hairstyles beneath mango trees in the town of Yamakoro, Mali. One woman is wearing elaborately tie-dyed cloth, while the other wears a blue factory-dyed cloth .
