bas relief: |
In sculpture, a design which is shallowly cut from its background material. |

Concerned with doing good. |

benign : |
Of a kind and gentle disposition. |

bespeaks : |
To be or give a sign of; indicate. |

bestowers : |
People presenting gifts or honors. |
|
bicorn : |
Having two horns or horn-shaped parts. |

biennial : |
Happening every second year. |

bosses : |
Raised areas used as ornamentation. |

bounty : |
Something that is given liberally: for example, 'the bounty of the earth' means the possibility for a rich harvest. |

bourgeoisie : |
The middle class. |

braziers : |
A metal pan for holding burning coals or charcoal. It may be a cooking device over which food is grilled. |

bricolage : |
Something made or put together using whatever materials happen to be available. |

bureaucracy : |
A governing system using layers of departments or non elected officials. |

burnished : |
Made smooth or glossy by rubbing or polishing. |

buttresses : |
Architectural elements that support the main structure to keep it stable and upright. |
