Cadet Views of Air Force ROTC

"AFROTC was a chance for me to try something I had always wanted to do but never had the opportunity. I've learned that I can do things I never thought i could. The thing I like most about ROTC is the people you meet, I know I have made many lifetime friends."

"I joined the AFROTC program so that I could work toward the major of my choice, while at the same time gaining the leadership skills and professionalism needed to succeed in the real world. The benefits of ROTC are what really drew me to the program. While in college I have the opportunity to earn scholarships, work with other student leaders, and still have fun. After graduation, I will enter the Air Force working in the career field of my choice, with a competetive salary, the ability to travel all over the world, a great vacation plan, and many other exciting oportunities. I can't wait to be an officer in the United States Air Force!

"To AFROTC Detachment 255, I owe my thanks… …for teaching me self discipline. …for teaching me self-motivation. …for inspiring me to reach beyond my set goals and achieve greater things. …for teaching me life lessons not available in the typical college classroom. …for providing me with a constant challenge to overcoming communication barriers I may have previously had. …for strengthening leadership skills I already possess and giving me an important leadership experience vital to becoming the best Air Force Officer I can be."

"With Air Force ROTC representing less than .2% of the University, the program has helped teach discipline, respect, and that there are other ways to have fun during college other than drinking."
