1) On average, how many hours per week does each cadet dedicate to AFROTC related activities?
A cadet can spend anywhere from 8-17 hours a week involved in AFROTC activities based on how involved the cadet is, the semester, and the individual week. This range covers all AFROTC matters, AF Classes, PT, LLAB, Etc.
2) Based on the answer to the previous question, how is a cadet's time divided between AFROTC academic settings, AFROTC training settings, and AFROTC physical fitness settings?
Due to AFROTC being a highly active program and many parts to it AFROTC becomes more of a lifestyle versus a activity. With AFROTC however, academics always comes first! If you need to get out of AFROTC related activities due to class obligations the Cadre and Cadet Wing are more than willing to be flexible. However it is up to you to manage your time so that conflicts occur as little as possible. As for PT, PT is generally first thing in the morning and does not usually conflict with any classes so problems generally do not occur.
3) Are there certain academic majors I need to pursue to be eligible to join AFROTC?
No. All majors are acceptable to be in AFROTC. Some majors may make you more eligible for scholarships, but a college degree is all that is needed to be an officer in the USAF. If you are in any of these majors and are interested in the Air Force then AFROTC is the place for you. If you decide to join AFROTC there is a high chance that you will be able to attain a Type 2 In-college scholarship. These scholarships cap at $15,000 and are used to cover your college tuition. These scholarships come with a stipend to help offset the cost of daily living and a book allowance. If you are interested in AFROTC and are in one of these programs it would be a good idea to check out the program. We are always looking for new cadets.

9) What is the purpose of AFROTC Field Training and what is it like?
According to the AFROTC Field Training Manual the purpose of Field
Training is to "evaluate military leadership and discipline, determine your
potential for entry into the Professional Officer Corps, and stratify you among
your peers." Basically what this says, field training is to see if the air force
feels that you are the person that they want to possibly be leading the most
powerful force in the world in the future. It is a training environment that is
very strict in conduct and highly stressful in activity. You will be pushed and
you will be tested, but this is where all your training leading up to FT comes
into play to get you through this experience and lead you through what very well
may be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.
