Activities and Events

AFROTC offers many opportunities to stay involved with the program through various activities. Some of the common activities are community service events, fundraisers and morale events. For community service events cadets do a variety of things to help the local area in a quest to become better citizens for America. Some of these events include visiting and spending time at the Veterans hospital, visiting and playing games with children at the University Hospital, helping out at the local salvation army, working with Habitat for Humanity, and doing the local Polar Plunge.

For fundraising, cadets work with ESPN during football games, the Big Ten Network for basketball games, and a number of other events. These events are fun and offer opportunities to get into places and be in situations that they wouldn't normally get to experience as part of the crowd.

For morale events cadets often get together to have cook-outs, softball and football games, pizza parties, movie nights, and play paintball. Morale events generally take place once or twice a month.

Finally, cadets participate in a special military dinner complete with several Air Force traditions including the infamous Grog bowl. Dining-Out is a formal dinner with a guest speaker honoring the graduating cadets and awarding the cadet wing for the hard work accomplished during the year.
