Department of Aerospace Studies Home
Welcome to Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 255 and The University of Iowa Aerospace Studies Program! If you are interested in becoming an officer in the world’s greatest Air Force, you’ve come to the right place. Hosted at The University of Iowa, Det 255 also offers the opportunity for students at Coe College and Kirkwood Community College to pursue exciting careers as U.S. Air Force officers.
You will gain invaluable leadership training and experience at Det 255 from our active duty officers and non-commissioned officers while getting a quality education at the University of Iowa or one of our affiliated schools. AFROTC Cadets are students first, pursuing their education, refining their talents and skills academically, but they're also committed to the Air Force core values (integrity first, service before self and excellence in all we do), the AFROTC honor code and the pursuit of an Air Force commission.
The University of Iowa's AFROTC cadets have a solid foundation and sense of pride in their heritage as students and as members of a long line of Hawkeyes who have gone before them and served their country with honor, dignity and pride.
Please explore our website for more information on what Det 255 has to offer you. We understand that a website does not always answer all of your questions, so feel free to contact us at any time for more information. Thanks for your interest in Hawkeye AFROTC!
