Reading
Tips from Tracey's Create-A-Book
This site offers tips and activities according to grade level and
acquired skills. The files on this site are in .PDF format. Scroll
to the bottom of the page for activity resources. You may also find
book reviews on this site.
Kid's
Domain
This site offers resources for books, activities and online games.
The site also has online children's books which allow you and the
children to be interactive with the story.
Teach-nology
This site offers paid memberships in return for access to all of
its resources, however, they also offer a wealth of free resources
for teachers. If you spend some time browsing the site, you will
find some wonderful ideas and resources that are free. I have found
the
Teaching Ideas section especially helpful.
Scholastic
Scholastic is the company that the book orders come from. They also
have a teaching resource section on their website which has some
great ideas for reading and writing. This

This site offers activities for reading and writing divided by grade

Pals
This site offers a pen pal program for students who are proficient
writers.

This site includes many printable games and activities for kids.
Many of them are based on the PBS television show Between the
Lions.

Connections
The Literacy Connections website provides information on reading
aloud, tutoring techniques and ESL literacy.

The Road to Reading site offers strategies for reading and writing.

Homepage
Hazel's Homepage is a great resource for teaching ideas and resources.
Something
to Remember Me By
Provides an essay contest where the student interviews their grandparent
or other older person and writes an essay about a historical event.
They also have lesson ideas, activities and reproducibles.
The Educator's Reference
Desk
This website contains numerous lesson plans and resources in all
subject matter, but specific to us is their extensive resources
for language arts. There are lessons for reading, writing, spelling,
comprehension, storytelling and grammar among others.
DLTK Teach
This site offers many lessons and activities related to reading.
The book break section is especially useful.
