Background:
I am a socio-cultural student interested in agricultural communities in the U.S. I am particularly curious about strategies employed by rural families and communities in response to the changing realities of agriculture and the economy. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grinnell College in 1998. My undergraduate thesis research examined how students made the decision to attend Grinnell College.
This paper was presented to the Association of Institutional Researchers of the Upper Midwest. Prior to entering the program at Iowa, I was at home full time with my two daughters, ages 6 and 4. When not studying, I'm likely to be lecturing someone on the importance of early bedtime and appropriate vegetable intake.
