Background:
I am a molecular anthropologist whose research elucidates evolutionary processes responsible for patterns of modern primate diversity. The goal of such work is to provide a better understanding of primate evolutionary history, ecology, biogeography, and to ultimately develop better strategies for the protection of endangered populations. Although I have interests across the primate order, my area of focus is on Old World rainforest taxa, particularly African primates and leaf-eating monkeys (colobines).
