Shelby Putt

Background:


Shelby is a second year paleoanthropological student.  She received her B.A. in Anthropology and English & Linguistics and A.A. in Spanish in 2009 from Indiana University-Fort Wayne.  She has worked on several prehistoric and historic archaeological sites in Indiana, but most recently, she participated in paleoanthropological fieldwork at the Homo erectus site of Ngandong in Java, Indonesia with an international team of Indonesians and Americans.  Shelby’s current research interests focus on Asian Homo erectus and the origin and evolution of language and its relationship with the complexity of technology.  Additionally, she has served as a TA for Human Origins and an Introduction to the Study of Culture and Society.
