Background:

Brandy Case Haub is currently a PhD Candidate in the Sociocultural Anthropology program. She received her MA here at UI in Feminist Anthropology on the subject of giftedness and gender identity. Her doctoral work examines the Puerto Rican Independence movement as a transnational political project, and her ethnographic research from 2003-2005 took place in Puerto Rico and New York City.  Brandy is now working on finishing her dissertation, and meanwhile has taught introductory anthropology courses at UI and Drake University in Des Moines. She lives in West Des Moines with her husband Mike and her son Jack.
