Nathan Holton

Holton

Background:

Nathan Holton is a PhD candidate whose research focuses on the
evolution of Neanderthal and modern human facial anatomy. Currently, Nathan is involved in a number of research projects including experimental work in facial growth and investigating changes in size and robusticity in the genus Homo.

With support from the National Science Foundation Nathan's
dissertation is focusing on jaw biomechanics, specifically the
relationship between bite force production and facial form in living
humans. This information is being used to develop biomechanical
models that can predict bite force production and efficiency in
Neanderthals and other fossil hominids.
